Intelligence:
Obedience:
Playfulness:
Affection:
Talents: Jumping 4 feet in the air as a senior dog, stealing my food when I'm not looking, running fast enough to keep up with big dogs, bothering me enough to get me off of my laptop and pet him, dragging your hand to his head for you to pet him, tilting his head at certain noises (and sometimes when I talk to him) and looking very cute, being the small cute dog all dogs want to be and knowing it, peeing without anyone noticing, being photogenic, sitting in laps, playing with a treat hard enough for it to get lost behind furniture, investigating around a park if he doesn't vibe with the other dogs, making friends with humans
Likes: Getting pets (the more hands the better), K.K. Slider, chewing on bones, burrowing, running (especially in a pack), chasing and being chased, humping other small dogs, small dogs in general, whipped cream, small children, stealing my spot on my bed/the couch, plushy cushions, jumping on beds even if I'm changing the sheets, the word "treat", the sound of my keys jangling, sitting on laps (especially if cross-legged), eating cat litter, licking jeans and legs, licking my face and the inside of my ear and sweater (which he's doing right now), sitting next to me, staring at me, jumping into my arms
(Yes, he likes sitting in laps and is talented for it as well.)
Dislikes: Aggressive dogs, puppies who play too rough, being alone, sharing attention, my laptop, my old boss who trained him, getting humped

Memories
- I first brought Duke home to foster him, since my workplace was still seeking a permanent owner for him. The first time I took off my glasses around him, he was incredibly confused and surprised, running in and out of the room to make sure I was still the same person.
- I initially adopted Duke around the same time I was driving my roommates back and forth to work a lot, so he came along to the city too. One time when we were sitting outside, someone stopped to look at him, then told me they had seen him from the corner of their eye and thought he was a piece of fried chicken.
- He used to get groomed at my old workplace, but didn't like the air dryer, so I'd hear him whine a lot. One of my old coworkers asked me what I would name him if he didn't already have one, but I didn't really have an answer. (I still don't.) My coworker said that he could see Duke being a "Jordan" because he jumps so high.
- At the third place I lived with him, sometime in my first year of living in the complex he had run up to a parent and her newborn baby in a stroller and started licking the baby's face. I don't remember this specific moment, but a couple of years later when I was moving out, I ran into them again and the parent told me that Duke had been the first dog her baby had ever met, so she gets excited every time she sees other dogs now.
- In our fourth home, right before I dropped him off at my dogsitter's to catch my flight for Katsucon in 2025, Duke met and made friends with my neighbors' dogs, a cocker spaniel named Apollo, and his grumpy chihuahua brother, Coffee. They played together in our neighborhood dogpark nearly weekly, even though my neighbors and I didn't share a common language. They gifted me a strawberry milk at one point anyway, though ♥
